Leo Eduard Faller was born in April 19, 1902 in Freiburg, Germany. After his studies of carpentry and interior design, Faller deepened his artistic education in State academy of fine arts in Karlsruhe. In mid-1930s Faller begun to work as a commercial artist mainly working on brochures and illustrations of german railway network. After the Second World War, in which Faller served as a soldier in Russia, Deutsche Bundesbahn (DB) and the Baden State Transport company became his most important clients. In addition, he illustrated children's books written by himself, his wife and others. Leo Faller died in December 15, 1969 in Karslruhe. In 1972, the Leo-Faller-Strasse in Daxladen, the city where he lived, was named after him.
