Atlaseum Terms and Conditions

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Atlaseum website and its services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these terms and conditions. We reserve the right to update or modify these terms at any time without prior notice. The current version of the terms and conditions is always accessible on our website www.atlaseum.com

2. Product Information

a. Authenticity

All maps, globes, and atlases listed on our eShop are genuine antique or vintage items, unless otherwise specifically stated in the product description. We provide detailed descriptions and images to the best of our ability to ensure transparency about the condition, age, and origin of each item.

b. Variations

Due to the nature of antique and vintage items, there may be slight variations in color, condition, and size. We strive to accurately represent each product on our website but reserve the right to omit details which do not significantly affect the overall value of the item.

c. Product Details

Product details, including but not limited to width, height, weight and other specifications, are provided for informational purposes only. While we strive for accuracy, these details are approximate and may vary from the actual product.

3. Inquiries and Orders

a. Inquiry: 

Customers wishing to place an order can inquire about products of their chosen goods using a web form on our website www.atlaseum.com or reach out to us at info@atlaseum.com. Customers must provide their contact information (email address) and shipping information - country of shipping and ZIP code (optional). We will reach back to the customer confirming availability of the goods, total cost of the order including the shipping to their location and payment instructions.

b. Order Confirmation

Once the payment  for the inquired goods is received, the order is placed and will be confirmed to the customer by email along with the mailout date.

c. Response Time

We strive to respond to all inquiries within  the same business day. However, during peak times or due to the complexity of the inquiry, it may take a bit longer. We appreciate your patience and assure you that we are dedicated to addressing your concerns promptly. 

4. Payments

a. Payment

We accept various payment methods to the best satisfaction of our customers, including PayPal payments and payments via bank transfer. Other payment methods can be requested. All payments must be made in full before the order is processed and shipped. Please be aware that international bank transfers may take up to 2-3 business days to arrive and your order may be held until the payment is fully processed.

b. Currency 

All prices are displayed in the currency specified on our website (EUR). We also accept other currencies (USD, GBP) upon request.

c. Accuracy

While we strive to ensure the accuracy of pricing, errors may occur. In such cases, we reserve the right to correct any errors in pricing and cancel orders if such errors occur.

d. Customs Disclaimer

Customers are hereby informed that in case of the international delivery (outside Czech republic, especially outside the European Economic Area - EEA) the customs authorities of the destination country where the goods are delivered may impose taxes, duties, and fees on the purchased items. These charges, if applicable, are the sole responsibility of the customer. Customers must comply and cooperate with the local customs authorities in order to ensure successful delivery of the goods. We encourage customers to be aware of and inquire about the customs regulations and charges relevant to their specific location.

5. Shipping and Delivery

a. Shipping Origin

All goods are shipped from Prague, Czech Republic. The Czech Republic is a member of the European Union (EU) and European Economic Area (EEA).

b. Shipping Services

Our primary shipping service for worldwide delivery is Czech Post (https://www.ceskaposta.cz/). In some cases we may also use GLS (https://gls-group.com/CZ/cs/home/), FedEx (https://www.fedex.com/en-cz/home.html), DPD (https://www.dpd.com/cz/cs/) or other shipping service. We reserve the right to decide which shipping provider will be used for the delivery of your order and we always communicate the choice of the shipping provider to the customer prior to the order.

c. Shipping Costs

Shipping costs are calculated based on the destination and the weight of the items. These costs will be communicated prior to the order and will be added to the total cost of the order.

d. Mail out Times

We strive to ship your orders the next business day after receiving the payment, however in peak times, it may take us up to 4 business days after the day of the payment receipt.

e. Insurance

We ship all orders insured to the full value of the order. The price of the insurance is included in the shipping cost. The actual shipping insurance terms, which you comply with while using our services, are defined by the shipping provider used for the delivery of your goods and may vary from one provider to another. Customers may request opting-out form the insurance, however in such cases the customers are accepting full liability for any damage occurring during the delivery or complete loss of the package.

In case the shipping service selected for the delivery imposes insurance limits which are lower than the total value of the goods ordered (usually 100 EUR), the customer will be informed in advance and may choose to terminate the order.  

f. Delivery Tracking

All packages are shipped as trackable and customers will be provided information about the tracking number of the parcel including the shipping service used and/or link to a website with tracking information.

g. Delivery Times

Delivery times depend on various factors which are out of our control and therefore we are unable to provide binding delivery time estimates. 

h. Local Pickup

Customers are entitled to free local pickup of the paid goods at our location at Prague 4, Czech Republic upon previous agreement.

6. Shipping and Liability for Damages or Loss

a. Packaging

We take utmost care in packaging each item to ensure its safe transit. All items are packaged with consideration for their fragility and unique characteristics.

b. Damage During Shipping

In the unfortunate event of receiving a damaged item, customers are required to obtain sufficient photographic evidence of the damaged goods, including, but not limited to, photos of the packaging and any issued documents related to the damaged parcel. Customers must notify us immediately at info@atlaseum.com upon finding out about the damage (no longer than 7 days after the package was delivered) and must provide clear photographic evidence of the damaged goods and the packaging. Customers are required to keep the damaged goods and the packaging in the original condition until the insurance claim is resolved. Customers are also required to cooperate with local delivery authorities (e.g. the local post office or a delivery company representative) when filing insurance claims, and must provide the damaged goods and the packaging for inspection by the respective authority. We are obliged to help our customers to file such claims in any way we possibly can.

c. Refunds for Goods Damaged During Shipping

Customers may file for a refund for damaged goods by contacting us at info@atlaseum.com. Based on the assessment of the damage from the evidence provided by the customer, we will work with the customer and the delivery authority to issue either a complete or partial refund, including the cost of the delivery. We strive to provide refunds as soon as possible, however in some complicated cases, the refunds may be issued after the damage claims are officially resolved by the delivery authority, which may take up to 60 or more days.

d. Return of the Damaged Goods

If the item arrives damaged, we may request its return for inspection purposes. In such cases, customers are responsible for packaging and returning the item in its original condition, following the provided return instructions. The cost of return shipping in case of return of damaged items will be covered by us up to the value of 40 EUR. The payment for return shipping will be processed to the customer upon receiving the item back in the original condition and providing a document with evidence of the cost of the return shipping.

e. Decline of Delivery of Damaged Parcels

Customers may decline accepting the delivery of the shipment in case it is physically unfit or unable to contain undamaged goods, however they are required to provide photographic evidence of the condition of the packaging obtained during the pickup or delivery attempt. The declined parcel will be returned to us and a refund will be issued after our inspection of the returned goods and the photographic evidence.

f. Failed Deliveries

Customers are not entitled to refunds of the shipping costs, if the delivery failed due to following reasons:

  1. Customers provided incorrect or incomplete delivery information (such as name, address, phone number etc.)
  2. Customers were unable to pick up the parcel from the delivery company or authority (e.g. post office or courier)
  3. The package was returned from the customs authorities
  4. Other reasons where customer’s behavior or lack of action or cooperation with us, the delivery or customs authority, prevented successful delivery

In the scenarios described above, we will contact the customer and try to resolve this situation either by sending the parcel again or issuing the refund for the goods.

In the scenario of failed delivery, customers are entitled to a refund for the goods only if the goods are returned undamaged and in an original condition.

Any costs or loss due to damage associated with failed deliveries (eg. return shipping costs or loss due to damage to goods occurring during return delivery) may be partly or fully imposed on the customer and/or deducted from the amount refunded to the customer.

g. Loss of Package During Shipping

In the event of experiencing a complete loss of the package, customers are required to notify us about this unfortunate situation at info@atlaseum.com. Customers are entitled to full refund (including shipping costs) after the package is officially proclaimed lost by the company responsible for the shipping, based on their terms and conditions.

h. Exclusions

We are not liable for damages or losses caused by factors beyond our control, including but not limited to natural disasters, accidents, theft, or any events classified as force majeure.

i. Limited Liability

Our liability for damages or loss is limited to the purchase price of the item. We are not responsible for any additional costs incurred by the customer.

7. Returns and Refunds

a. Return Policy

We accept returns of purchased items within 14 days of the delivery date. Items must be returned in their original condition for a refund to be processed. 

b. Refund Process

Refunds will be processed within 7 business days of receiving the returned item in an original, undamaged condition. 

c. Refunds of Shipping Costs

The costs of original shipping to customers are not refundable during returns, except for following cases:

  • the goods were damaged or lost during shipping
  • customer received different goods than they ordered
  • the information about the goods provided by us on the website or during our communication were proven to be fundamentally incorrect

d. Return Shipping and Liability for Loss or Damage

Customers are liable for any loss or damage of the goods occurring during the return shipping, which is why we highly recommend to insure the package to the full value of the goods during the return shipping. Return shipping is paid by customers and costs associated with return shipping are not refundable.

8. Privacy and Security

a. Data Protection

We are committed to protecting your privacy. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for information on how we collect, use, and store your personal data.

b. Communication

Our official language of communication is English. While we strive to provide the best customer service, please note that we may not accept messages, inquiries or claims in languages other than English. This is to ensure clarity, accuracy, and a prompt response to your queries. 

9. Governing Law Clause

Atlaseum is operated in adherence to the laws of the Czech Republic. By accessing and using this website, you agree that any legal matters or disputes arising from your use of the site will be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Czech Republic. Any legal action or proceeding relating to your access to, or use of, this site shall be exclusively submitted to the competent courts of the Czech Republic. You hereby consent to the personal jurisdiction of the courts located within the Czech Republic for the purpose of resolving any such disputes.
