Rare original early pictorial map of Czechoslovakia from the era between the world wars, generally called as "The First Republic". Maps from this era are easily recognizeable by the characteristic "extension" of the east paret called "Zakarpattia Oblast" (Podkarpatská Rus in Czech) with cities like Mukačevo and Berehovo. The map shows prominent Czech landmarks and cities and also typical life situations of ordinary and famous Czech people (Tyrš, Jánošík, Hus, Smetana, Komenský). Special importance is given to famous Czech and Slovak spa cities like Karlovy Vary, Františkovy Lázně, Teplice (with mention of Ludwig van Beethowen's visit to city in 1812), Poděbrady, Lázně Bohdaneč, Trenčianské Teplice, Sliač and more. The map also served as a promotion of Melantrich's spa advisory office and several Czech travel and leisure magazines (Pražský Ilustrovaný Zpravodaj, Hvězda, Star, Ahoj na neděli, Eva, Vkus).
Few short tears along some folds and few brownish spots. The overall condition is somewhat fragile due to relatively thin paper used and must be handled with care.
