Pictorial playing cards of Czechoslovakia (ČSSR)

Very rare and interesting card game consisting of 40 cards measuring roughly 6 x 9 cm, together forming a pictorial map of Czechoslovakia from the socialistic era of the country. The map contains variety of features from historical monuments, tourist attractions, products of local agriculture, but it also promotes important industrial factories, important products and also shows location of power plants, hydropower plants and mines. One of the less jolly symbols on the map is a soldier with automatic gun guarding the heavily watched country border - the famous 'Iron curtain' between the countries of Soviet influence and the western world (here the Western Germany).

The rules of the card game are following:

• all cards are dealt among two, three or more players
• first player puts any card on the table with the picture up
• next player must find any adjacent card among his cards and put it next to the first card
• if the second player doesn't have any adjacent card, it is the next player's turn
• in the first round of the game, only one adjacent card can be put on the table
• in the following rounds, as many adjacent cards as one player has can be put on the table in one round
• the player with last remaining cards lost

The game can also be played in another (although much harder) way with the cards reversed. The back side of each card  contains schematic illustrations of the region and quotes suggesting the location of the card.
