An incredibly detailed physiographic map of Mexico by one of the most popular cartographer of the 20th century Erwin Raisz, a pioneer of the landform mapping. The map is based primarily on an aerial photographs and the authors flights and travels. The map is compiled of almost 40 different physiographic symbols (f.e. plateaus, plains, ridges, different types of mountains, domes, volcanoes, fjords, lava plains, corals and many more). An overview of all the symbols can be found on the left side of the map. The map is so detailed that even smaller peaks can be clearly discerned. The inset maps show map of physiographic provinces and a map of Mexico's states and territories. Besides text description of the physiographic regions, the map also contains glossary and list of used abbreviations.
Raisz had created several large scale landform maps like the Landform map of the United States, Landform map of the North Africa, Landforms of Arabia or Mapa de los Paisajes de Cuba but he also created a smaller scale 'Set of Landform and Outline Maps by Erwin Raisz'. Raisz is also an author of three revolutionary atlases, among which the Atlas of the Global Geography is definitely the most famous and widely sought after.
