Original illustrated "tourist" map of The Thuringian Forest (Thüringer Wald in German), a mountain range in the southern parts of the German state of Thuringia, Germany, with hand coloured borders and 18 engravings along the edges, portraying important buildings, castles, churches and other constructions of the region like Wartburg, Rudelsburg, Landsberg, Schwersburg and other. The map spans roughly from Eisenach on the west to Jena on the east, covering cities like Gotha, Weimar and Hildburghausen, which were one of the most important map publishing of the whole Germany.
Acceptable, with one tear along the fold. Bottom and top right corners age toned of the map, missing small bits of paper along bottom edge.
