This relatively simple yet quite uncommon atlas published by H. Wager and E. Debes from Leipzig was marketed as 'a suplement to any school atlas, especially to Debes' Schools for the middle schools'. It consisted of 9 world maps in mercator projection, 3 maps of European continent and 5 maps of middle Europe, spanning from Netherlands and Switzerland on the west to Hungary and Eastern Prussia on the east. Among the maps' themes were physical relief, meteorology and climate, distribution of rain, mean air pressure and winds, distribution of vegetation and mammals, geology, but also non-physical topics like population density, ethnics, distribution of religions, languages and dialects. The numbering of the maps is somewhat odd (leading up to number 54), suggesting the maps were intended to be used also as part of some other larger atlas.
The atlas is undated and it is hard to estimate the exact year due to its non-political nature, but due to the fact it is using Ferro meridian as the prime meridian, we can assume with relative precision it was published before 1884, and due to its advertised price (1 Mark 75 Pfenning) we can be certain it was published after 1871. We estimate it was published around 1880.
