The smallest and least explored continent finally get its own atlas in 1966. During the polar expeditions in 1950's and 1960's, scientists and researchers acquired enough data to publish the first and so far also largest atlas of Antarctica ever published. Issued by a presidium resolution of Academy of Science of the USSR, it was published by Main department of Geodesy and Cartography of USSR and printed in only 3000 copies (this copy has serial number 2580).
